Equivalent to old JIS SMF5030! By performing carburizing and quenching, the material is hardened, improving wear resistance.

"SM-5" is a material that conforms to JIS standards and is widely used for mechanical structural components. Post-processing can include steam treatment and carburizing quenching and tempering. Carburizing quenching refers to a heat treatment process that diffuses carbon into a metal with a low carbon content to create a hardened layer in the material. By performing carburizing quenching, the material can be hardened, improving its wear resistance.
